HOW TO GET THERE

Surinam Airways (SLM) offers international and regional flights to Suriname from Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Belem (Brazil), Willemstad (Curacao), Oranjestad (Aruba), Port of Spain (Trinidad) and Bridgetown (Barbados).

Other airline services to Suriname are provided by KLM, Martin Air, Caribbean Star (BWIA) and META Airlines.

VISA OR TOURISTCARD

Travel visa and a passport, valid for at least 6 months after intended stay in Suriname are normally required. On November 25, 2011, the Government of Suriname introduced a “Tourist Card” in addition to the existing visa types. The “Tourist Card” allows passport holders one entry to the Republic of Suriname for tourist purposes. Please check for more info “Buitenlandse Zaken” (Foreign Affairs Department of Suriname) or the embassy of consular office in your country.

NB; A multiple visa is required when visiting Suriname and returning back to continue travel. For example, visiting Suriname, French Guyana and returning to Suriname.

VISA CHARGES

Tourist visa costs vary between € 40, – and € 45.00,-, valid 2 months. The “Tourist Card” costs $32.00 (U.S.) [€30.00] and can be purchased at the port of entry in Suriname (Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport). The traveler must present a passport valid for at least six months and a return ticket. The validity of the “Tourist Card” is 90 days starting from the date of entry.

An exception is made for the following nationalities:
